5 Cup French Press Questions

5 Cup French Press
French Coffee Press – How to use?

I bought an 8 cup coffee press (not actually 8 cups, only fills 2 regular cups of coffee)

There was no instructions, but I googled it

I found that you use 2 tbsp of coarse ground coffee & fill the press with water (not quite boiling, because you may burn the coffee). Let sit for 4-5 min & voila.

Ok, coffee tastes more like a weak tea. LOL! I tried longer, I tried more coffee… nothing is working. Its drinkable, and I’m determined to get this right.

What do you do?
Thanks! I do like strong coffee. I use 3 tbsp this morning, still not stong enough.

I bought French Roast yesterday. Maybe I’ll try a stronger kind. I don’t know if I just wanted coffee, but I think it’s getting better.

You are doing the right thing, experiment. You might want to try a different coffee or a different grind. If you have a coffee house you visit, like Starbucks or Seattle Coffee, ask for their recommendation. I have found that a french roast works really well. You sound like you like your coffee like I like mine, strong.

Don’t give up, you will find the right combination.
