French Press Questions

French Press
What type of coffee grind should I use with my French press?

Also what’s the best way to brew coffee in a French press?

You’ll want a coarsely ground coffee. Make sure any coffee grinder you use is of excellent quality. If you have a very fine or a mixed size of grounds, then your coffee won’t turn out so great. The finer the grind, the harder it will be to press down, the more cloudy your coffee will be, and the more sludge you’ll have at the bottom of your cup.

How to determine the coarseness of your coffee:

To find coarse-ground coffee, you can either go to a coffee store that sells beans and grinds them for you, or you can go to a large grocery store. Most have a coffee grinder at the coffee beans and you can choose the fineness of the grind there. Choose the most coarse grind.

If you want to purchase a coffee grinder, the link below gives suggestions for choosing the best to suit your needs.

Have fun!
