French Press Mug Questions

French Press Mug
Do those press coffee mugs you can buy at say Starbucks work well?

I have heard many a yahoo answer freak say they prefer press over drip…. but everyone keeps talking about a french press machine.

What if your broke and dont have alot of time before work. Can you buy one of those cups and a bag of whole beans and just grind them and throw the grinds in that mug and get to work?

How exactly does those cup things work? Do you leave the grounds in there while your drinking? How much coffee ground do you use?

Im a new coffee drinker if you cant tell. I really have no clue… please give any info that may help….cause right now im using drip but would love to experience coffee in a better way as I only get one cup a day…

Yes they work pretty well, you get the full flavor of the coffee because
1.) It doesn’t pass though a filter
2.) The coffee seeps in the hot water, allowing the flavors to come out

You should try a French Press before you buy it – either a friend’s, or ask at a Starbucks, as long as they don’t have a line out the door, they’re usually happy to French Press a sample for you.
See if you can taste the difference. Personally, I can’t really taste a difference because I have no taste buds and overload my coffee with sugar and cream. But I do like using it as a “travel coffee maker”

If you buy one at Starbucks they come with directions, and a person there can explain it to you pretty well. (Its one of those things that sounds A LOT more complacated, then it actaully is.)

Yes, you leave the coffee in the press. There is a filter at the bottom that prevents the grounds from going any where (Like into your mouth ;) .
